Dr. Sketchy's with Deanna Deadly

Dr. Sketchy's Chicago is back! Met up with old friends, found some new ones, and generally it was the delight it always is.

I wish I'd brought my colored markers, as Deanna's hair is fire engine RED, which cunningly matched her bat pasties and various tassels.

Bordello Lifedrawing 6

Another night of Bordello, this time with the stupefyingly gorgeous Greta Layne modelling.

Bordello Lifedrawing 5

Tonight's lifedrawing session had the model, Michelle, posing with a gigantic hoop, to replicate some of the Playboy photos from the Crazy Horse in Paris.

The gigantic hoop was actually supplied by one of the organizers, who had it just kind of lying around in his bedroom.

Y'know. As you do.

note: Did not draw Michelle L'Amour even half as pretty as she actually is.

Bordello Lifedrawing

Likenesses, some anatomy, diffuse lighting and hands tend to escape me still, but a few rounds of bordello themed lifedrawing will teach to you draw high heels like a boss.

Wait, when was this?

I was digging around through the stockpile of empty or barely started old sketchbooks (a pile that I was comforted to learn lots of other artists have too) and discovered that, at one point, I'd started doing oil sketches from Deviantart stock.

The heck? Might be nice to start that up again, since it wasn't a complete disaster despite oils being a mortal nemesis to me, eclipsed only by the ultimate evil that is... gouache.

Forearms

Working from some Ron Lemen studies at the top, then trying to apply it with the aid of the almighty Google image search.

WhoFo Crowd

Sketching from a balcony of a local food court during lunch, as well as from photo ref.

.... fairly obvious which is which, I imagine.

Bodybuilders are scary

Equally as scary, but infinitely shinier and prettier to look at would be The Kawah Ijen sulphur mines by night.

I showed them to a coworker of mine and we just acknowledged that we were "both gonna have a shitton of blue and orange dramatically lit fire paintings and not resent each other for it? o ______o"

Protip for google image search: Sulphur? Yes. Bodybuilders?... Not so much.
